We are looking for more good volunteers!!
Does the thought of helping others interest you?
Does the prospect of working with search dogs appeal to you?
Do you have the necessary time to commit to the team?
Then we want you!!
Getting involved in search and rescue can be a big commitment. It takes an average of about two years to train a new dog to become a certified search dog. Our team is made up of all volunteers and we receive little or no help when it comes to expenses involved in working a search dog. We work in any weather at any time of day or night and searches often cover some of the nastiest terrain in the area.
Now if you read the first paragraph and didn't close this page you just might have what it takes to become a valuable member of Northwest Pennsylvania K-9 Search and Rescue! We have openings for the following positions:
Dog Handler - You and your K-9 partner will participate in search and rescue operations.
Search Responder - You will work in the field during search operations in a variety of capacities. Some examples might be: working in the command post, assisting a K-9 team, or performing grid or foot searches.
Auxiliary Member - You will participate in public relations events and assist in training and other team functions.
